Djokovic Wimbledon Semi Final After Epic Win
Novak Djokovic booked his place in the Wimbledon semi-finals after a hard-fought victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime, describing the win as a result of both skill and determination.
The Serbian star said he relied on "the racket and a lot of heart" to come through one of the toughest matches of his tournament so far. He admitted that managing nerves and handling the pressure played a key role in his success.
Djokovic and Auger-Aliassime were closely matched throughout the contest. The battle remained tight until the final stages, with the outcome uncertain for much of the match. The veteran champion said those intense moments are exactly why he continues to compete at the highest level.
He explained that the deciding match tiebreak could have gone either way. However, he stayed calm under pressure and found a way to secure victory. Djokovic said matches like this continue to motivate him despite his many years on the professional tour.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion also shared a personal moment from the match. He revealed that he had been encouraging his children to go to sleep after the fourth set because of the late finish. However, they wanted to keep watching and stayed awake until the end.
Djokovic said he was glad they remained in the stands because the match turned into one of his best performances on Centre Court. His comments drew a warm response from the Wimbledon crowd, who applauded the emotional reflection.
Although he appeared calm and composed throughout the contest, Djokovic admitted afterward that he was feeling exhausted. He said the physical effort of the match had taken a toll, even if it was not visible during play.
The victory adds another impressive achievement to Djokovic's Wimbledon record. The semi-final appearance is his eighth consecutive trip to the final four at the tournament. It is also his 15th Wimbledon semi-final and the 55th Grand Slam semi-final of his career.
Despite those milestones, Djokovic showed little interest in discussing statistics. He said his focus remains firmly on the competition rather than the numbers.
According to Djokovic, records and achievements can be appreciated later. For now, he is concentrating on recovery and preparation for the next challenge.
The Serbian said the tournament is not over and that all attention must be on the upcoming semi-final. He acknowledged that he will face the world's top-ranked player in two days and knows the challenge ahead will be significant.
Djokovic's latest win once again demonstrated why he remains one of the most successful players in tennis history. His ability to handle pressure, compete deep into major tournaments, and deliver in crucial moments continues to set him apart.
With another Wimbledon semi-final now secured, Djokovic remains in the hunt for yet another Grand Slam title. As he prepares for the next stage of the tournament, his focus is clear: recover, compete, and keep the title dream alive.
