Trump rally replacement stuns cancelled concerts
US President Donald Trump posted multiple messages on Truth Social on Saturday while staying at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. He used his account in a fast posting spree and shared political views, images, and comments about upcoming national events. He criticized performers who withdrew from a planned concert series and suggested a new political rally instead.
During a two-hour window, Donald Trump posted more than 20 times. Some posts included AI-generated images showing political fantasy scenes. The posts mixed entertainment, politics, and personal opinions, drawing attention across social media platforms.
The concert series was planned for celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. It was set to take place near the National Mall in Washington. However, several artists withdrew within days, leaving the lineup incomplete and raising questions about the event’s direction.
Trump said he was unhappy with the performers who backed out. He said he prefers events with “positive and loyal” participants. He proposed replacing the music shows with a large political gathering called an “America Is Back” rally. He said the event would bring supporters together in a strong national message.
A spokesperson for Freedom 250 said the rally is planned for June 24. It will act as the opening event for a 16-day national celebration. The group said the schedule was adjusted after several artists, including Martina McBride, decided not to perform. Some cited concerns about political messaging in the event.
The withdrawals created uncertainty around the concert series. Organizers had planned multiple performances, but only a few remained after several artists left. The changes forced officials to rethink the structure of the national celebration and how entertainment would be presented to the public.
Trump also reacted strongly to a court ruling involving the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. A federal judge ruled that Trump’s name must be removed from the center and said major changes to its structure required approval from Congress. The decision also paused planned renovation work.
US District Judge Christopher Cooper issued the ruling. Donald Trump criticized the judge in several posts. He claimed the judge had conflicts of interest and questioned his fairness. Trump suggested that the judge should be investigated for not disclosing personal background details linked to political work.
In his posts, Trump also referred to former US President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden while criticizing the ruling and political system.
The president also shared AI-generated images on Truth Social, including fictional sports and political scenes. These posts spread widely online and added to public discussion about his online communication style.
The White House did not immediately respond to questions about the posts. The developments come amid ongoing debates in Washington about political events, public celebrations, and the role of entertainment in national programs.
